Civitas Funding Group, LLC is an asset management firm
which specializes in municipal securities investments on
behalf of institutional and private clients. Our
investment philosophy is based on fundamental credit
research and portfolio diversity. We offer a range of
strategies to our clients that are seeking low
volatility investments uncorrelated to other asset
classes. Civitas is a subsidiary of StoneCastle
Partners, a leading asset manager with over $2
billion of assets under management.
Mitchell Savader is Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Civitas
Funding. Prior to Civitas, Mr. Savader founded
The Savader Group LLC, a credit advisory firm focused exclusively
on providing independent third-party credit research on municipal securities
to asset managers, bond funds, equipment leasing companies and banks. His
experience in the municipal credit industry covers more than two decades and
includes senior credit and management positions at a rating agency, bond
insurer, equipment leasing firm and national broker-dealer. Prior to founding
the Savader Group, Mr. Savader held senior credit and portfolio management
positions at a number of firms, including starting and leading Banc One's
municipal leasing business and serving on Moody's Public Finance Rating
Committee. Mr. Savader is also a contributing author to the recently
published Handbook of Municipal Bonds edited by Sylvan G. Feldstein and
Frank J. Fabozzi.
